FAQ Answers
What is an
e-portfolio?
Simply stated an E-Portfolio (electronic portfolio) is a website,
where the content is designed to express the accomplishments of a
teacher, school, class or a student. Therefore it is content driven.
An in depth understanding can be
found by reading
Wikipedia E- Portfolio.
Why use a
FREE program?
- A free program allows the participant to
create as many sites as they wish. This is an incentive to professors and
teachers who may wish to establish sites for their family, another business,
etc.
- There is no cost to the college for
maintenance.
- Whether the program is free, or purchased is not really the important issue.
The issue is can we get people to use it! Consider how many have Microsoft
Word or Microsoft Excel available at home, school or at libraries and CANNOT
use it effectively. It is our experience that these, programs and technology itself is
underutilized.
- Learn with tech assumes a greater goal than to introduce and teach a program.
Our attempt is to have the program work effectively for your organization and your staff.
Why use professional Learn With Tech training if the
program is free?
- We provide the training online for each participant
- Our goal is the same as yours - A system accepted by
staff and/or students that WORKS!!!
What does
Learn With Tech do in a full E-Portfolio program?
- We will set up a school page with links which lead to ALL
your participating staff.
- Each staff member has full control of their site.
We create a naming convention for each staff website (similar to email
naming conventions) Each participant can access and edit their own site.
- We set up a Disclaimer policy and link it from all pages,
stating that the college school assumes no liability.
We train the participant in what Should Not go on the website. For example
personal information and copyrighted materials.
- We create a layered system of checks for conformity to an
Internet Acceptable Use Policy (peer review, supervisor review)
- Most important - We train participants in a manner that
most will use the E-Portfolio for the college/school.
- Thus our goal is to have the E-Portfolio system utilized by staff and or
students, by your organization.
What if I am in
another country or another state?
- Learn with Tech need not ever visit your facility.
- Learn with tech can do ALL this remotely.
- Currently sites have been set up in Pakistan and Mexico
and the list is increasing.
Can I see a
sample site working?
Where can we find out more about Learn With Tech?
- The founder of Learn With Tech is Professor Daniel Stein.
Information can be found at
professorstein.com
Can I get a
test E-Portfolio site, and what is the cost?
- Yes! Please send an email request to Professor Stein. We
prefer that this is done by the President of a college, the chair of a
department, school principal or organization director. However, if you send
a copy of your email request to that person, we will create a test
e-portfolio site.
- What is the cost? - FREE
Will
we continue with Learn With Tech to keep the sites up?
NO!, We believe that you will be so pleased at our methods of teaching and
our way of capturing the energy of your participants, we allow the
relationship to be severed at any time, with no penalty. All work remains the
property of your institution.
How do you charge?
What is the cost up front?
- We charge by participant. Fee per participant is dependant on the
quantity initially purchased.
- The cost up front is nothing. All that is needed is a letter from the
appropriate party agreeing to our proposal. We will bill your organization.
We believe relationships are built on trust!

 The
Glass House ScenarioConsider that your Website is a glass house.
Anyone driving by can view your foyer, the wallpaper of the room, and
even pictures on the wall. They can even see what is playing on your TV
hanging on the wall.
To view all this all they need is the address of your glass house. |
