Understanding by Design using Technology

"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."
– Vincent van Gogh

Understanding by Design is a brilliant concept.

UbD Tech and other site pages attempts to add student e-portfolio  to learn then and demonstrate curriculum mastery via asynchronous Stream of Consciousness Technologies.

Emerging Technologies such as Microscost Office, Google sites, Jing, Screentoaster and more allow a student to create a timeless compendium demonstrating with voice, video motion screen capture to both learn curriculum and then demonstrate concept mastery in their very own words on their very own website.

"How can we create a rigorous and engaging curriculum that focuses on understanding and leads to improved student performance in today's high-stakes, standards-based environment?" is a quote from the book above. Perhaps the answer is Technology and specifically E-portfolio. The rationale. E-portfolio allows a student to create an ongoing compendium of asynchronous narratives and animations demonstrating understanding of the curriculum.
